Council Tax Legal Services provides expert advice, consultancy and training services to private individuals, businesses and public bodies on all aspects of council tax.

With an emphasis on providing practical advice and finding effective solutions, CTLS is dedicated to helping solve council tax problems, and extend awareness and understanding of the council tax system in England and Wales.

CTLS was formed as a specialist consultancy in 2016 in response to the news that council tax has become Britain’s No.1 personal taxation issue.

The Director of CTLS is Alan Murdie, LL.B, Barrister, who is Britain’s most experienced council tax lawyer on behalf of the taxpayer having been involved with numerous appeals and test cases. Chairman of Nucleus Legal Advice in London, he has edited the Council Tax Handbook since 1998 and is a consultant with National Citizens Advice Specialist Support and a trainer for the Institute of Money Advisers.
